OCRFC is an excellent rugby club, with players drawn from alumni of Cranleigh School, their friends and the local community. The clubhouse hosts a vibrant social scene and a happy family atmosphere. At OC Rugby we value good rugby and good fun.
Our past – a club for alumni of Cranleigh School
The club originated over a century ago as a sports club formed by alumni of the famous rugby hotbed Cranleigh School. Old Cranleighan RFC still maintains strong connections to the school. If you wish to delve into our history, feel free to explore more here.
Community rugby for all
Old Cranleighan RFC is open to all who wish to join us and have been for more than a decade. We offer inclusive, well organised community, social and competitive rugby to anyone interested in joining, irrespective of gender, age, experience, or background.
The rugby we play
Currently, our Men’s 1st XV competes in the Surrey and Sussex Counties 1st division, while we proudly field an array of mixed ability teams spanning Men, Veterans, Women, Junior Boys and Girls, and mixed-gender Minis. Our teams engage in various rugby formats including full adult 15-a-side, 7s, age-modified rules, and social touch rugby.
Our social side
In addition to rugby, our club serves as a vibrant community social hub, complete with a licensed bar and catering facility. On any Sunday following minis and youth training, or after a home fixture, you’ll find tens of people associated with the club as guardians, volunteers, or supporters lingering to enjoy a bite to eat and drink as they mingle.
What we offer you
While our prime focus remains on accessible community rugby, we take immense pride in having acted as the initial stepping stone for many talented players who subsequently attracted the attention of professional academies.
To meet the varied ambitions of our members, our club blends its social and mixed-ability community rugby teams with rigorous coaching standards and pathways into the elite game. Whether your rugby interest leans towards a casual, social experience or unveiling your skills to a professional academy, we can facilitate that aspiration.
