Thanks for looking at the OCs for your child’s first experience or development of their rugby skills. The Under 6 age group is open to any boy or girl who is in Year 1 of school.
It is a great way for your child to develop some key life skills whilst running around, being active and above all having FUN, enjoying structured non-contact games that will keep them interested and excited.
It is about creating an environment where the children start to understand the key values that rugby provides - TEAMWORK, RESPECT, ENJOYMENT, DISCIPLINE, SPORTSMANSHIP.
Our qualified (and DBS checked) volunteer force of coaches can’t promise miracles, and not everyone will eventually turn out to be an international rugby player, but we can guarantee our absolute commitment in giving your child a great experience.
By the end of the season we will have introduced the concept of playing TAG rugby on a 3 v 3 basis, in preparation for the following season when they will start competitive games.
We appreciate that many things are going on at this age group and instead of insisting on paying a yearly subscription we are happy for your child to pay on a “pay per play” basis of £7 per session as we understand that there are going to be some Sundays that you will not be able to come down.
Every Sunday from the first weekend of September through to May we start promptly at 10:00 (we suggest that you arrive soon after 09:30 to park and register). The session lasts for about 1¼ hours and is followed by free squash and hot chips for the kids. The bar is open throughout for tea / coffee / bacon butties, and of course beer / wine for the adults.
